Sidney arrives at Columbus, Ohio! Columbus is the capital and largest city in the U.S. state of Ohio. Named after the explorer Christopher Columbus, the city was founded in 1812.

Sidney’s first stop is a historical guided-tour of The Ohio Statehouse. There he was guided through the 1860s Greek-Revival building that includes the George Washington Williams Memorial Room, a tribute to Ohio's first African American legislator.

Next stop, the Kelton House, where he experienced living history. This restored Underground Railroad stop was furnished with 1860’s décor. What a unique history lesson!

Sidney’s enjoying his visit to this friendly city and decided to take a break at the Book Loft of German Village a unique and quaint book store which encompasses one whole city block.

What a long and fun day! Before he packed it in for the night, Sidney had dinner at the famous North Market. After a delicious “all American” meal he strolled around enjoying the interesting shops, sampled fresh produce and smelled the fresh local flowers.

Excited to start the day, Sidney gets up early. First stop, The American Whistle Corporation, the only metal whistle manufacturer left in the United States. There Sidney discovered how the ball gets inside a whistle! And best of all he left with a shiny new “American Classic” whistle!

Last tourist destination, The Columbus Zoo there he enjoyed its world renowned collections of lowland gorillas, manatees, Siberian tigers, cheetahs, and kangaroos. Sidney stocks up on souvenirs’ to deliver to the Columbus Children’s Hospital.

At the Columbus Children’s hospital he delivered loads of souvenirs to children waiting for kidney transplants and undergoing Kidney Dialysis Treatment. He made jokes and laughed with the children realizing how good he felt helping others.

Just before he puts on a new pair of sneakers to visit Chicago, he stops by the Greater Columbus Regional Dialysis center. There he learns patient’s concerns about Kidney Disease.
