Sidney is now in Denver the capital and the most populous city in Colorado! Denver is nicknamed the "Mile-High City" because its official elevation is exactly one mile above sea level. Founded in 1858 as a mining town during the Pikes Peak Gold Rush in western Kansas Territory, it’s now the 24th largest city. Several US Navy ships have been named USS Denver in honor of the city.
Denver is also famous for its dedication to New Mexican cuisine and the Chile. It's best known for its Green and Red Chile sauce, Colorado Burrito, Southwest (Denver) Omelet, Breakfast Burrito, Chiles rellenos, and Tamales most notably. Sidney can’t wait to dive into some healthy Southwest cuisine!
Sidney admires all the beauty surrounding the charming city. Denver has an old-fashioned feeling among the modern city life. Sidney takes a photo in front of the many brick houses from the early and mid-20th centuries that line the streets.
Sidney sets off to see the sites and tour Denver. He visits the Denver Red Rocks Park where he takes in a great brisk walk to get a little exercise after the long flight. Then he stops for a quick bite to eat, a Southwestern Salad, hold the dressing. Later that day he takes a guided tour of the Denver Art Museum where he learns so much about the history and culture of Denver. Sidney is ready for a rest and is looking forward to the rest of his visit.
Sidney wakes up early, eats oatmeal with fresh fruit and then hits the Denver Zoo. There he sees lions and tigers and bears, oh my! What a fun day Sidney had at the zoo. To finish up the day’s excitement he head to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science where he picks up souvenirs for some friends he’ll visit later that day.
After a nap and a healthy lunch Sidney visits the Denver Children’s Hospital. He takes a tour of the gelato bar, the playrooms and the art therapy studios. He also meets with one of their Child Life Specialist to learn about all the great things they do for kids staying at the hospital. He ends his day handing out souvenirs and reading to the children. What a great time Sidney had in Denver. Thanks for coming along for another great adventure!
