Sidney the Kidney has landed at LAX arriving in Los Angeles, the City of Angels! Oh boy is he excited! There is so much to do in this fun city. L.A. is the second most populous city in the United States. Los Angeles is a world center of business, international trade, entertainment, culture, media, fashion, science, technology, and education.

Los Angeles is known as the "Creative Capital of the World", due to the fact that one in every six of its residents works in a creative industry. It’s also the home base of Hollywood, known as the "Entertainment Capital of the World", leading the world in the creation of motion pictures, television production, video games, and recorded music. The performing arts play a major role in Los Angeles' cultural identity. There are more than 1,000 musical, theater, dance, and performing groups. Los Angeles has more museums per capita than any other city in the world.

Los Angeles enjoys a Mediterranean climate; this should make for an awesome trip since its September and 85 degrees! Perfect weather for site seeing. Sidney’s first stop is the Griffith Observatory, a L.A. landmark since 1935. It is visited by nearly two million people each year. Since its evening Sidney enjoys the spectacular view of the Hollywood lights.

The next morning after Sidney finishes his bowl of oatmeal and fresh strawberries he heads to the Museum of the American West, perfect for cowboy lovers & easily located in Griffith Park. The exhibits were really cool! Just before leaving, Sidney stops at the Blue Screen Horse, where blue screen technology allowed him to watch himself riding off into the sunset.

Just a few blocks away, Sidney walks to a grand Farmers Market, there he feasted on fresh veggies, steamed chicken and a bowl of carrot soup! What a nutritious and fresh meal. Now Sidney feels great and heads to the next tourist destination, the Hollywood Walk of Fame! There he pressed his hand on the Stars of several of his favorite celebrities.  Just before leaving Hollywood and its splendor he takes a tour of the Hollywood Wax Museum where he is blown away by the life-like looking waxed celebrity figures. That night Sidney dines in Little Tokyo chowing down on fresh grilled fish, steamed veggies and brown rice. His meal was healthy and fantastic!

Sidney is leaving L.A. today but has time for just a few more very important stops. First he stops at the Los Angeles Dialysis Clinic where he visits with patients, talking to them about their concerns and answering questions about the importance of education when you have CKD. Lastly, he ends his day with a visit to the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. There he passes out balloons, stickers, teddy bears and sugar free lollypops to children suffering with CKD. All on the floor, children smiled and laughed and so did Sidney.

As Sidney flies to the next city and adventure he thinks about all the fun things he saw, the laughter he shared and he can’t wait to get back to L.A.
